Mohammad Rafayet provides support on assessing the climate information needs and requirements of the transport sector in Bangladesh. He also provides technical inputs for enhancing the Online Road Network of the Roads and Highways Department to integrate risk information, early warning and climate database.

Mohammad Rafayet is an urban planner with expertise in GIS, transportation planning and environmental management.

He has worked with government and non-government organizations in the USA and Bangladesh. Some of the projects he has contributed include the bus route rationalization and company-based operation of the bus service in Dhaka, the Revised Strategic Transport Plan (RSTP), the detailed master plan for Sabrang and Naf Tourism Park, and the Iowa Nutrient Transfer Monitoring Project.

He holds a master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University in the USA, and a bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
