Usman provides support on assessing the climate information needs and requirements of the finance sector in Pakistan. He also provides technical inputs to the development of a Decision Support System (DSS) for the Ministry of Finance that will serve as a dynamic fiscal risk assessment tool for climate hazards.
With an in-depth knowledge of the finance sector, Usman has carried out and designed the methodology for the user needs assessment. He has influenced decisionmakers to think of adopting a DSS and employ a uniform approach towards climate-based decision-making.
Usman has worked with ministries and NGOs focusing on the finance, planning, climate and environment sectors in Pakistan. He has over 15 years of experience in being part of national and international projects. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration.
