Planning Expert
Salman provides support on assessing the climate information needs and requirements of the planning sector in Pakistan. He also provides technical inputs to the development of a Decision Support System (DSS) for the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives to incorporate climate indicators in the planning process to track climate-resilient projects.
Salman conducts a desk review to map stakeholders, assess DSSs and identify gaps. He also leads the user needs assessments, and undertakes surveys, consultation meetings, interviews, focus group discussions and decision-simulation workshops to identify the sector’s weather information needs and requirements, decision-making contexts, data availability and accessibility, and technical capacity.
